What does ‘retired’ mean?
Climbing rope has a limited lifetime for use. If the rope is used regularly, or the climber has a number of falls etc, then the rope must be ‘retired’ and not used for climbing due to Health & Safety legislation. It then becomes a waste material, however, we are committed to upcycling and reinvigorating this beautiful material.
